Be Prepared / In The Family Way…again!

Be Prepared / In The Family Way…again!

Lucy will be back at the Edinburgh Fringe again this year with a new show, “Be Prepared”.

Tickets are now available on the Pleasance Website, here.

At Brownies, Lucy thought she’d be prepared for anything as long as she had her emergency 10p for a phone box and knew how to tie a fisherman’s knot. Life turned out to be slightly more complicated than Brown Owl let on.

And that’s not all – this Sunday (28th April) ‘In The Family Way…again’ is on Radio 4. It’s a sequel to last year’s show (listen to that one here) and can be found on the BBC iPlayer after broadcast here.

In The Family Way – 29th April

In The Family Way – 29th April

Lucy has a half hour radio special airing this Sunday (29th April) on Radio 4,

It’s on at 7.15pm on Sunday evening, or if you miss it, you’ll be able to catch it on the iPlayer here after broadcast.

In the meantime, here’s the press release / blurb for the show!

In recent years, Lucy Porter has become a mum of two and a middle-aged orphan. In her brand new show, with the help of rising star Luke Kempner, Lucy explores her relationship with the concept of family, and the lasting effects of a childhood spent in Croydon.

Lucy gives helpful tips for children, parents and grandparents alike, and explains helicopter parenting, the value of benign neglect, and the rise of the tiger mother (a mother who comes to tea, eats all the buns and drinks all of daddy’s beer.)

As she charts the life cycle of a typical nuclear family, Lucy addresses issues like siblings – why do we all think ‘it’ll be nice for them to have each other to play with’ when no siblings have ever played together nicely since the dawn of time?

Lucy takes us right to the end of the parenting process – when you end up having to parent your own parents. How do you tempt your parents out of the Morrison’s cafe? What do you do when your dad insists he’s a major international songwriter? Why is it essential to carry a pound coin at all times?

Choose Your Battles

Choose Your Battles

Lucy’s new show, “Choose Your Battles” will run at the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe. Back at the Pleasance, the show’s on at 5.30pm between the 2nd & 27th August (not 16th).

Here’s the blurb from the Fringe guide;

A brand-new, brilliant hour of stand-up from this perennial Fringe favourite. In these combative times, it’s easy to be irritated, offended or downright enraged by other people. How do we know which causes are worth fighting for? Lucy uses her hilarious experiences to help you decide.

Recent TV and radio appearances include: QI, Insert Name Here, Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled, Room 101, News Quiz, The Now Show.

You can buy tickets from the PLEASANCE, HERE and from the EDFRINGE WEBSITE, HERE
